La literatura y la comunicación son artes hermanas y tienen una virtud, que aprovecha este portal para hacerle su eje: permiten contar historias de descubrimientos que se vuelven asombrosos cuando se comparten con el lector.
Llamingosan es un proyecto de comunicación digital que recoge las experiencias literarias y periodísticas de Álvaro Samaniego Ponce.
En este anaquel de publicaciones hay dos tendencias dominantes, son los elementos constituyentes del nombre: el mundo andino y las experiencias del autor en Japón.
En Ecuador, donde nació Álvaro Samaniego, se usa coloquialmente la palabra “llamingo” para designar a las personas que viven en los páramos andinos. Es una derivación de «llama», el camélido que vive en las alturas de los Andes. A esta designación se agregó el “san”, añadido que los japoneses usan para dar más formalidad al trato y que significa señor o señora.

Llamingosan is a digital communication project that depicts the most relevant of the literary and communication works, so far, in the career of Álvaro Samaniego Ponce.
In this publications’ shelf you will be able to distinguish two dominant trends: the Andean world and Japan. This is, so, the origin of this project’s name.
Llamingo, the first part, is the way Ecuadorians call the people who inhabit the heights of the Andes mountains, the word it also derives from “llama” (Lama glama), a domestic Andean Camelid. Then it was added the Japanese “san”, which is used by Japanese to express respect for another person and could be translated like “mister” or “madame”. Thus, mixing these two together, the closest translation could be “a mister of the heights of the Andes” (it shall be pronounced as “jamingosan”).
